A new toy for the Wife

I gave my baby a new toy. A 1999 Saturn SL2 with all of the toys, cruise control, ac, power windows, keyless entry, power mirrors, and a WING! Yeah! She's styling now. I'm just a little apposed to her fuzzy steering wheel cover, but I guess she's got to chickify it somehow.

It's was fun to teach her how to drive it though... It's a manual transmission, but she's got it down pretty good for one day's practice. We had a few instances where she was trying to rush her "takeoff" from a dead stop and stalled out and got quite frustrated. She calmed down after a I told everyone behind us to hold on a few seconds. :-) In all now, she's all checked out for solo driving with a standard!

Cullen's Pad

I spent this weekend at Rex's Friends place in "Little Italy" San Diego. He's got an awesome little condo, with high ceilings and an amazing urban view with a view of the bay from the upstairs bedroom. We cooked up some Steaks, and just chilled out all weekend long. Great Times!

Spruce Street Suspension Bridge

Well, I came back home and I found some new little jewels of San Diego. The first, a suspension bridge located on spruce street in bankers hill. The bridge was built in 1912 for a rich man who wanted to easily walk to his twin daughter's house on the other side of a canyon.

Nikki & Will

I met up with Will and Nikki this weekend too. They've really turned into a great couple. Looks like will has a good chance at a job as an air traffic controller and Nikki is already student teaching and has jobs lined up right out of college!

LAPD Shrine

Here's the shrine to the LAPD on Western Ave and Marine. This is to a job well done.

Devin Brown

On my way to work everyday I pass a shrine to Devin Brown, a no good 13 year-old kid who attended to Western Elementary School. This kid stole a Toyota Camry, and a LAPD officer tried pulling him over in the early morning hours (around 2am) because he was swerving. This officer thought the driver was drunk and attempted to pull him over. The kid took off and caused a high speed chase then nailed a curb on 83rd St and Western. He attempted to back up, and the officer shot at the driver of the car 10 times. The officer did not know the driver was 13 years old, he was just shooting at a car that was backing into him. The local community is pissed off about this theif getting whacked. The sign in this picture says "Stop jailing and killing our sons." I want to post one that says, "Stop stealing our Toyotas!" Omar Hard at Work

Here is Omar Lopez, working hard in Rm 30 at Western ES. We are installing 8 port fiber optic internet hubs into each classroom. This room is a kindergarden room, with megabit bandwidth. Do Kindergardners really need this speed? Hmm... Posted by Hello

'Rolla Hits 100k

100k miles and it still runs like the day that I got it. It hit 100,000 at the intersection of the 105 and the 110 freeways in the LA area. I just hope that the car has another 200,000 miles or more in it. The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles So the car has been the equivalent distance around the world 4 times -- 3 times with me since I bought it. Too bad all those miles are going between Flagstaff, LA, San Diego, and Phoenix

Math Is Tough...

It took me an hour to figure this one out...
