First Turbo-Prop Experience

I've had another rough day at the office. A King-Air C-9L pulled up to Sierra Vista today and off-loaded a passenger. Unfortunately for them, (but fortunately for me) their company car was nowhere to be seen. I ended up driving the passenger and pilot to their destination and in return I was given a free breakfast and some right seat time in the King-Air C-9L to Phoenix. This airplane was real sweet! We flew it around like a little VFR airplane at 10,500 and cruising at 270 KTS. I did all of the flying from the takeoff to the landing! The pilot was an MEI so I got to log the time as dual received!

I waited around Cutter for a couple of hours then met up with another pilot who flys for the same company. He took me back to Sierra Vista in a larger King Air, the 350 model (Above Picture is the exact aircraft). This airplane was a bit more of a handful than the smaller King Air. It had a lot more systems that I was not used to but I think I could learn them pretty quickly and get the hang of it in about 10 hours or so. We did one stop at Chandler to pick up the boss and where I got to do the landing. I ended up flairing a little bit high but it worked out and ended up being an OK landing. The airplane stopped in a very short distance. It really helps to have big brakes and beta pitch props!

I made a good contact with these pilots and it looks like I'm going to be able to fly with thim on the weekends (Non-Pay) every now and then.
